Led by Head Chef Manjunath Naik, our restaurant brings together decades of culinary experience, bold flavors, and authentic Indian hospitality.
Chef Naik began his career in the early 1990s at the prestigious Taj Fort Aguada Beach Resort in Goa, before moving on to Dubai’s luxury Intercontinental Hotel. His skill and creativity quickly earned recognition, including a Gold Medal at the Emirates Salon Culinary in 1999. That achievement brought him to Ireland, where he spent over 20 years perfecting his craft — from fine dining at The Merrion Hotel to leading the kitchen at Google’s Dublin HQ. Along the way, his cooking has been celebrated by leading Irish food critics such as Lucinda O’Sullivan and the late Paolo Tullio.
But for Chef Naik, opening Sun & Sand with his family was always the dream. Together with his wife Savita, and supported by their sons Nitin and Nitesh, the restaurant has grown into a true family-run business, proudly serving Kilcoole and beyond. Behind the scenes, a dedicated team ensures that every dish is freshly prepared with care, using only the best ingredients and authentic methods.
“Taste is king, but health is just as important,” Chef Naik says. “We never cut corners, and we take pride in serving food that is both delicious and wholesome.”
Today, Sun & Sand is more than a restaurant — it’s a celebration of authentic Indian cuisine. With bold spices, traditional recipes, and heartfelt hospitality, we invite you to experience the flavors that define who we are.
